CEC provides civil engineering and site development consulting services to developers, architects, planners, industry, and contractors. Mr. Wanamakok responsibility includes proposal writing, supervising junior engineers and CAD operators, reviewing construction plans and specifications, preparing construction cost estimate, interacting with local regulatory personnel, coordinating with the client, project architect, real estate attorney, contractors, construction manager, suppliers, and other professionals. His projects range from traditional land development, single family residential, condominium, commercial, and mixed use.

Northwest Consultants, Inc. (www.nci-eng.com) is a civil engineering and land surveying firm with its headquarter in Toledo, Ohio. The company provides services to State DOTs, local governments and municipalities, private developers, and larger consulting firms. Mr. Wanamakok is responsible for the preparation of construction plans and specifications for roadway, civil infrastructure, and real estate development projects. He leads a group of engineers and technicians working on the project. Mr. Wanamakok coordinates plans submittal and brings together his clients and local government agencies. Mr. Wanamakok attends meetings with various government agencies, informs his client of the findings, and provides recommendations. Mr. Wanamakok prepares proposals for potential projects and goes to interviews if short-listed.

Mr. Wanamakok conducted a research about the installation of a newly developed Geocomposite Membrane in flexible pavement. The work was carried out at the SMART ROAD research facility in Blacksburg, Virginia. The research was funded by National Science Foundation, the Virginia Transportation Research Council, the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology, CARPI USA, and Atlantic Construction Fabric.

DETAILED EXPERIENCE

 

Real Estate Development:

Perform feasibility and site analysis, due diligence, predevelopment site investigations, site evaluation, and planning. Assist in the preparation of preliminary layouts, sketches, budgets and financing, as well as evaluating overall development potential. Feasibility studies include review of a variety of regulation, environmental consideration, and various geotechnical and site planning issues. Design includes site grading analyses to achieve "balanced earthwork", erosion and sedimentation control facilities, stormwater management, utility design/coordination, management of regulatory approvals, and preparation of construction documents. Assist developers, architects, real estate professionals, and private industry with the development of feasible and cost-effective designs for residential lots, townhouses, ranch condominiums, villas, office buildings, and commercial site developments. Perform site boundary and topographic survey. Prepare construction cost estimate. Prepare regulatory permits and manage the design, approval, and construction processes of site development projects. Design sanitary sewer and water distribution systems and coordinate the service extensions of natural gas, electric, telephone, and cable television utilities. Perform slope stability studies, flood routing studies, drainage, stormwater management, stream relocations and enclosures, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design, and above-ground and below-ground stormwater detention facilities.
 

Roadway and Street:

Roadway improvement includes new construction, realignment, widening, and reconstruction, intersections and interchanges, traffic signals, pavement markings, signs and lighting, and the repair/replacement and new/expanded bridges and culverts. Experience includes horizontal and vertical alignment design, cross section design, geometric design, roadside design, pavement design, roadway drainage design, stream crossings, maintenance of traffic layout, signing and pavement marking design, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, utility relocation, cost estimating, permitting, and construction inspection.
 

Land Surveying:

Perform field survey: boundary, topographic, geodetic, control and construction layout with Total Station and GPS equipment. Office work includes computations of cut sheet for field crew, data downloading, adjusting survey network, preparing maps, plats, and exhibits, American Land Title Association (ALTA) survey, and survey report. Write legal description for easements. Volumetric computations pertaining to excavation and site grading. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, State Plane Coordinate System (Lambert and UTM), Static, Kinematic and RTK GPS mission planning and field procedures; Network Least Squares adjustment; horizontal and vertical datums, ellipsoids, and geoid models.
 

Right-of-Way:

Perform research for existing right-of-way and property information. Contact county's and city's records office, railroad companies, State DOTs, county engineer's office, utility companies, etc. Design and prepare right-of-way plans including centerline plat, property map, summary of additional right-of-way, right-of-way detailed sheet, and legal descriptions. Responsibilities also include field reconnaissance, office calculations, and assisting a Professional Surveyor to set out right-of-way monuments.
